LEAD BARISTA

As a lead barista problem solving and taking leadership is crucial for success at TB&TB. Taking ownership of your position and being the building blocks for the team is what we are looking for in this position. You will work hand in hand with the Store's Leader and be their right hand on the daily operations of your store

Part Time or Full Time

- $17.5 per hour + Tips ( Average of + $8.5)

- You will be scheduled 5 days a week / 2 days off.

- 5 to 6 hours shifts. 

REQUIREMENTS:

- You are passionate for world class specialty coffee.

- Impeccable Customer Service.

- 2 years of experience in the Specialty Coffee industry

- Solid Latte Art Skills.

- Knows how to dial and make the right variable adjustments for a great espresso shot.

- Reliable on every shift and STRONG WORK ETHICS.

- Detail oriented

- Problem solver

- Legacy to our customer experience and product quality is your big priority.

- Flexible schedule and MUST be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

- Food Handlers card required.

- Must work well with others and take initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Makes decisions at the store level and notifies Store Manager as well as ownership.

- Attend to our team members' concerns and solve them effectively.

- Identifies unprofessional and or toxic behaviors within your store team and addresses to keep a positive and safe work environment.

- Leads and reinforces our company’s values and specialty coffee culture between our team to project the same into our customer’s experience.

- Responsible for shift covering when sick days or no show for other team members.

- Knows how to organize your team according to everyone’s strengths for a faster service and consistent product quality.

 

Product Quality and Store Appearance.

- Ensures all cafe areas are clean and tidy by creating Daily cleaning schedules for the entire store.

- Always keeps shelves and fridges fully stock and clean.

- Keeps products on the shelves aligned and organized by date.

- Manages raw material by date to avoid/reduce unnecessary waste.

- Solves every unforeseen store task in a timely manner and effectively.

- Maintains safety features and optimal store appearance, FOH, and BOH.
 

Customer Experience.

- Order’s turnaround time is always your main priority.

- Ensures every order will be a faster service with a consistent high product quality.

- Ensures that the barista on the register greets every customer immediately in a friendly manner before the customers greet first.

Job Description.

The Store Leader at our The Boy & The Bear - Coffee Roastery is responsible for overseeing all operations of our coffee store, barista performance management, inventory / order management, customer service, creation of store goals, shift coverages and reporting to Head of Retail Operations.

Your schedule availability must be Monday to Sunday’s (Open schedule required for covering shifts at any given moment) Two days off a week back to back.

Financial Responsibility.

- Raw Material weekly ordering within the allocated monthly budget.

- Find strategies aligned with our company’s vision in order to keep the store cost under budgets.

- Cash sales management and handout every month Responsible for ensuring that all cash is counted accurately daily and final amount matches cash sales records monthly report.

- Constant written and verbal store communication and top-down communication from ownership.

- Constant Communication with Ownership to maintain same practices such as training, recipes, procedures, bar-flow and overall store care.

- Monitors inventory effectively in order to prevent loss and waste.

- Communicates with vendors to maintain business relationships and secure appropriate or best pricing.

- Seeks to grow customer base and increase store traffic by creating a warm and friendly but professional bond with every customer, as well as ensuring every product delivered to our customer has the best possible quality with a fast and efficient turnaround time.

- Maximize profitability and setting/meeting sales targets and avoiding unnecessary loss and waste including motivating staff to do so.

- Ensures proper equipment functionality and performs, schedule and or find available resources for a successful completion of regular equipment maintenance.
