The Blue Store

Most of our spaces are shaped by Colombian roots, Nordic minimalism, or a blend of both. But this one started with something simpler... just a color. We came across this deep, muted blue on a regular day. It was part of something we picked up for personal use, nothing special.

But the moment we saw it, it sparked something. There was a calmness, a sense of depth, that felt both peaceful and just beautiful.

A Simple Love for Color

We fell in love with that color, and that’s when we knew: " The next store had to be The Blue Store."

That single tone became our anchor. From there, we created a family of blues, one slightly lighter, one slightly darker.

Each wall, inside the store and walls outside of the building was painted in a specific shade depending on how the natural light would hit it.

Why this matters?

At The Boy & The Bear, we aim to create spaces, and coffee experiences that feel a little more intentional, and a little more special.

This store, in particular, started with a feeling. A single color that spoke to us from the very beginning.

Maybe, the story behind this space is a reminder that even something small and unexpected can spark the beginning of something meaningful.

Intro To Palette

We leaned into the monochromatic scheme of “muted blues” + drawing some feelings from mid-century palettes and clean svelte lines . But to keep it warm and alive, we added two contrasting elements:

Rust Brown / Burnt Orange:

A warm opposite tone that breaks up the blue in themost beautiful way.

White Oak Wood:

Soft, neutral, and natural. It brings warmth and gives the eyes a place to rest.
