A farm brought back to life
When Juan Felipe Ocampo purchased La Reserva in 2018, the farm had been largely abandoned for years. Only a small portion of the land remained in production, while much of the property had been reclaimed by nature. Where others saw uncertainty, Juan Felipe saw potential. Drawn to the fertile soils and high elevations of Ciudad Bolívar, he began the long process of restoring the farm and rebuilding its future through specialty coffee.
Today, La Reserva has become one of Antioquia's most exciting coffee projects, cultivating more than twenty varieties across sixty hectares of productive farmland. The transformation reflects years of dedication, careful stewardship, and a belief that exceptional coffee begins with a healthy and thriving landscape.
Coffee growing alongside wilderness
The name La Reserva pays tribute to the vast natural reserve that surrounds the farm. More than seventy percent of the property remains protected, providing habitat for an extraordinary range of wildlife, including the endangered Andean bear, monkeys, ocelots, butterflies, and countless native species.
Water from two natural sources supports the farm's operations, and careful water treatment practices ensure that resources are returned cleanly to the environment. This commitment to conservation allows coffee cultivation and biodiversity to coexist in remarkable harmony.
