A Family Legacy in Nariño

High in the mountains of Nariño, Colombia, Francy Liceth Castillo and her family cultivate coffee with remarkable care and dedication. El Ubérrimo—named after the farm's abundant and fertile land—is a shared family project built on generations of agricultural knowledge, thoughtful stewardship, and a deep respect for the surrounding environment.

Patience, precision and time:

This Caturra lot undergoes an extended washed process that highlights the complexity of the variety and terroir. Carefully harvested cherries are fermented, depulped, and slowly washed before spending up to 20 days drying under the Colombian sun. The result is a coffee with exceptional clarity, vibrant fruit character, and a refined sweetness.

A Beautifully expressed washed Caturra

This lot is composed of the classic Caturra varietal and undergoes an extended washed process designed to highlight precision, structure, and transparency in the cup. After harvest, the cherries are carefully fermented before being floated, depulped, and placed through a second stage of fermentation. The coffee is then thoroughly washed and slowly dried under the Colombian sun for up to twenty days.

The extended fermentation and careful drying create a cup that is vibrant and expressive while remaining exceptionally clean and balanced.

Berries, Orange ring & Plum:

El Ubérrimo opens with notes of ripe berries and juicy plum, followed by a bright citrus character reminiscent of fresh orange rind. As the coffee cools, its sweetness becomes more pronounced, revealing layers of fruit complexity and a refined, silky texture. The high elevations of Nariño contribute a lively acidity and remarkable clarity, making this a coffee that feels both vibrant and composed.

Elegant, fruit-forward, and deeply representative of its origin, El Ubérrimo is a beautiful expression of family-driven coffee production and the extraordinary potential of Nariño.
